New Yorker’s Mistake Keying Car with ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ Sticker – Florida Cops Arrest Him on Felony

via YouTube

Bodycam footage shows a Florida deputy arresting a New York man for felony criminal mischief.

The man, visiting the Florida Keys, saw a truck with a “Let’s Go Brandon” bumper sticker at a supermarket that “infuriated” him, so he keyed the vehicle, causing over $6,000 in damage.

Security cameras captured the incident. When questioned by the deputy at his vacation home a few days later, the man initially played dumb but eventually admitted scratching the truck because of the political bumper sticker.

The deputy explained this constituted a felony under Florida law since the damage exceeded $1,000.

“Normally, I would get a warrant for you,” the deputy said. “But since it’s a felony and it just happened two days ago, I don’t need a warrant.”

“What was his excuse? That he doesn’t like Trump?” one deputy asked.

“Pretty much,” the arresting deputy stated. “He said he saw the bumper sticker and it infuriated him so he keyed the car.”

“Well, that’s going to cost him,” the other deputy said.

“Like $6,000,” the arresting deputy said.

While political disagreements are understandable, the footage underscores that violations of law are not permitted, even to express political views.
