Sinéad O’Connor’s Estate Demands ‘Biblical Devil’ Donald Trump Stop Using Her Music

via Sinéad O'Connor

The estate of singer Sinéad O’Connor demanded that former President Donald Trump stop using her song “Nothing Compares 2 U” at his political rallies.

O’Connor, who was known for her fierce moral code of honesty, kindness, fairness and decency towards others, would have been disgusted and insulted by Trump misrepresenting her work given her past criticism of him as a “biblical devil”.

Her estate and record label formally requested that Trump and his associates cease using the song immediately.

O’Connor’s estate and Chrysalis Records said in a statement, “Throughout her life, it is well known that Sinéad O’Connor lived by a fierce moral code defined by honesty, kindness, fairness, and decency towards her fellow human beings.”

“It was with outrage therefore that we learned that Donald Trump has been using her iconic performance of Nothing Compares 2 U at his political rallies,” the statement continued.

“It is no exaggeration to say that Sinéad would have been disgusted, hurt, and insulted to have her work misrepresented in this way by someone who she herself referred to as a ‘biblical devil’,” read the statement.

“As the guardians of her legacy, we demand that Donald Trump, and his associates desist from using her music immediately,” the statement concluded.
