Liz Cheney, J6 Commitee, Hid Evidence Exonerating Trump’s Call For Guard Troops

via CBS

The January 6 Committee, led by Rep. Liz Cheney, is accused of suppressing exculpatory evidence in their investigation of the Capitol riot.

Specifically, the committee withheld testimony from a Secret Service official that said former President Trump had pushed for 10,000 National Guard troops to be deployed in DC on January 6th.

This directly contradicts the committee’s claims that no evidence supported the White House seeking more security.

The initial interview transcript, which Cheney attended, was only recently released.

Republicans allege the committee selectively released information supporting their narrative against Trump while hiding anything exonerating him.

“The former J6 Select Committee apparently withheld Mr. Ornato’s critical witness testimony from the American people because it contradicted their pre-determined narrative. Mr. Ornato’s testimony proves what Mr. Meadows has said all along President Trump did, in fact, offer 10,000 National Guard troops to secure the U.S. Capitol, which was turned down,” Rep. Barry Loudermilk said.

They point to this example of the Secret Service testimony as evidence the committee did not conduct an objective fact-finding investigation.

“This is just one example of important information the former Select Committee hid from the public because it contradicted what they wanted the American people to believe,” Loudermilk added. “And this is exactly why my investigation is committed to uncovering all the facts, no matter the outcome.”

The accusations raise doubts about the full transparency and integrity of the committee’s investigation.
