Pro-Palestinian Activists Rally at UCLA as Police Remove Encampment

via FOX

Pro-Palestinian protestors had erected an encampment at UCLA for a week, chanting slogans and blocking entry that made some Jewish students fearful.

The encampment’s guards had assaulted a journalist.

Protestors chanted, “Free Palestine”; “¡Si, se puede!” and “The people, united, will never be defeated.”

They added, “From the river to the sea/Palestine will be free.”

After overnight clashes where pro-Israel counter-protestors dismantled barricades, the LAPD was finally called in and gave protesters a deadline to leave or face arrest.

Members of the Jewish community had expressed alarm over the encampment’s radical and potentially antisemitic rhetoric.

Protestors chanted “Long live intifada!” and “Intifada revolution.”

The governor and mayor then responded by vowing to prosecute those responsible for the violence and that students involved in the counter-protest would face discipline, in a swifter response than the prior tolerance of the encampment.
