‘WHERE’S THE SEC?’: MSNBC Hosts MELT DOWN Over Trump’s Rising Net Worth

via NBC News

MSNBC hosts criticized the surge in the valuation and trading of former President Trump’s media company, questioning why the SEC did not intervene in what they viewed as market manipulation.

After Trump Media & Technology Group’s stock skyrocketed last week, Trump’s net worth increased by $4 billion and the company reached an $8 billion valuation despite just $3.4 million in revenue.

MSNBC described the company as lacking a concrete business strategy beyond being a platform for Trump’s posts.

The network argued the stock price, valued at 2,000 times revenue, reflected political rather than financial investment given Trump’s potential 2024 run.

“All this is Donald Trump posting. And so you’ve got, as Andrew said… that whole kind of Wall Street bets, Trump loyalists, rah-rah boys saying, ‘I’m going to take this thing to the moon.’” MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle said. “Unofficial payments, unregulated, almost political donations that nobody’s going to track. And that’s when people are looking at the SEC saying, are you kidding me!”

Analysts say the company will need to boost quarterly revenue to sustain its valuation as Wall Street monitors the risks and fundamentals of the volatile speculation in Trump’s venture.
