KJP Gets Flustered During Fiery Back-And-Forth With Peter Doocy

via Forbes

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre got into a heated exchange with Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy over the use of violent rhetoric.

Doocy referenced Trump saying a Biden reelection could lead to a “bloodbath” and Biden saying in 2020 he didn’t want the primary to become a “negative bloodbath.”

“What was it when Joe Biden said in 2020, ‘what we can’t let happen is let this primary become a negative bloodbath?’” Doocy asked.

Jean-Pierre said the contexts were different and they must denounce violent rhetoric from any leader.

“So I’m going to be really mindful and careful about Donald Trump. But if you read, because he is a candidate, we’re talking about the 2024 election, you should read what he said in its context. So you got to read what he said in context,” Jean-Pierre said.

“He’s talking about… he was talking about a group of people… that’s what he’s talking about. What the president was talking about during the primary was not to allow it to be the words and the primary and that election to become negative. Two different things. They’re not the same,” Jean-Pierre said.

“We have to denounce violent rhetoric, which, wherever it comes from, a former leader, we have to denounce that. Because we saw what happened on January 6th. We saw what happened there,” she said.

Trump then used the term “bloodbath” again to describe the border situation under Biden.

At a Michigan rally, Trump accused Biden of a “border bloodbath” and defended using the term, while the RNC launched a website called focusing on the border issue in swing states.

“I stand before you today to declare that Joe Biden’s border bloodbath — and that’s what it is, it’s a bloodbath,” Trump said.

“They tried to use that term incorrectly on me two weeks ago. You know, it’s all about misinformation,” he added.
