Trump Lawyer Alina Habba Mocks NY AG James Following Reduction of Fine by Court

via Sky News

Former President Trump’s attorney criticized New York Attorney General Letitia James after an appeals court reduced Trump’s civil fraud penalty from $454 million to $175 million.

Meanwhile, a judge ruled the criminal trial over hush money payments would begin as scheduled on April 15, rejecting defense arguments to delay or dismiss the case due to late evidence disclosure from federal prosecutors.

“I hope she took a little piece of humble pie today because that’s what was served to her, just a little, but we’ll be serving a lot more of that in the next couple of years,” Habba said.

“I’ll post either the $175 million in cash or bonds or securities or whatever is necessary, very quickly,” Trump said.

The judge found the Manhattan DA made good faith efforts to provide documents and saw no prejudice to warrant changing the trial date.

“I would have no problem testifying,” Trump said. “I didn’t do anything wrong.”

The defense alleged prosecutorial misconduct in both the civil and criminal cases, which judges have been skeptical of.

“You are literally accusing the Manhattan DA’s office and the people assigned to this case of prosecutorial misconduct and to make me complicit in it, and you don’t have a single cite to support that position,” Merchan said to a Trump lawyer.

“This court is of the opinion that there really are not significant questions of fact to be resolved,” Merchan said.
