Jon Stewart Responds to Hypocrisy Backlash After It Was Found He Overvalued His NYC Home by 829 Percent

via The Daily Show

Comedian Jon Stewart was accused of hypocrisy after it was revealed he overvalued his New York City home by 829% when selling it in 2014, just as he had ridiculed Trump for similar property valuation issues.

Stewart tried to dismiss the comparison, claiming his case was different than Trump’s various scandals.

“OMG!! I’ve been caught doing something not remotely similar to Trump!” Stewart wrote. “I guess all I need to do now is start a fraud college, steal classified docs, bankrupt casinos, pay hush money, grab [expletive], discriminate in housing, cheat at golf and foment insurrection and you’ll revere me!”

He took the opportunity to further insult Trump over false claims.

The revelation undercut Stewart’s recent criticism on his Daily Show return of Trump “lying” about property valuations, as Stewart himself appears to have inflated the value of his duplex significantly versus official records.

Stewart’s comeback has seen him adopt an MSNBC-like role, constantly attacking Trump but praising Biden, raising questions of partisan bias beyond traditional comedy.
