Establishment Media, Left Attack Donald Trump for Promoting Bibles

via FOX 2 Detroit

Former President Donald Trump is promoting and selling a special edition Bible in partnership with country singer Lee Greenwood.

Dubbed the “God Bless the USA Bible,” it includes copies of founding documents and Greenwood’s handwritten lyrics.

Trump said in a video that bringing Christianity and religion back is essential to making America great again.

“It’s a very sad thing that’s going on in our country, but we’re gonna get it turned around. Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country,” Trump said.

“That’s why our country is going haywire. We’ve lost religion in our country. All Americans need a Bible in their home, and I have many,” Trump said.

“It’s my favorite book. It’s a lot of people’s favorite book. This Bible is a reminder that the biggest thing we have to bring back America to make America great again is our religion. Religion is so important,” he said.

“Stand up, speak out, and pray that God will bless America again. I’m proud to endorse and encourage you to get this Bible. We must make America pray again. Pray. Get educated. Get motivated, and stand with me and the legions of Americans asking God to bless our great nation to bring our great nation back,” he added.

However, his Bible promotion has drawn intense criticism, with media outlets and liberals accusing Trump of using faith as a money-making “grift.”

They argue he has never shown genuine care for Christianity.

Trump has “never shied away from using his name or likeness to try to make money,” the Washington Post wrote.

“People [should] realize how offensive this is to those of us that really believe in the Bible,” Reverend Al Sharpton wrote.

“Serial conman, criminal, and sinner is peddling his latest grift to fund his hundreds of millions in legal costs – as if Trump has ever read a page of the bible in his life,” the Lincoln Project wrote.

“And the saddest part? MAGA suckers are nonetheless still falling for it,” it added.

Conservatives defended Trump’s message about religion’s importance, though some said packaging it with a $60 Bible for profit was not wise.

The criticism follows past backlash over Trump citing scripture or holding a Bible after protests near the White House.
