Bolts Missing on Door That Flew Off Boeing Jet

via Youtube

A door panel flew off a Boeing 737 MAX 9 due to missing bolts, leading to a safety crisis for Boeing.

The incident prompted the grounding of 171 planes for inspection, impacting United and Alaska Airlines.

The panel, manufactured by Spirit AeroSystems, was found to have loose parts.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has taken a stricter stance on Boeing’s production due to quality issues, with an ongoing audit of 737 MAX manufacturing.

FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker said, “I certainly agree that the current system is not working, because it’s not delivering safe aircraft.”

“So we have to make changes to that,” he added.

Boeing’s stock has declined over 20% since the beginning of the year.
