Biden reacts to Hamas offer of hostages for massive amount of prisoners, cease-fire

via Fox News

Hamas has proposed a 135-day cease-fire and the release of all remaining Israeli hostages in exchange for a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and the release of over 1,000 Palestinian prisoners.

The plan involves a three-phase release of hostages and a demand for UNRWA to maintain its role in overseeing aid to Gaza.

Israel’s government has not issued a response yet, and there are ongoing negotiations with the involvement of the United States.

President Biden has expressed uncertainty about the offer, while Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasized the ongoing belief in the possibility of an agreement.

Biden said, “We are not sure where it is going and we continue to negotiate.”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, “There is still a lot of work to be done, but we continue to believe that an agreement is possible and, indeed, essential.”

“We will continue to work relentlessly to achieve it,” added the President’s advisor.
