Nine people, including eight corrections officers and one inmate, were hospitalized after a violent rush by around 200 inmates at Ironwood State Prison in Southern California.

The incident occurred during a contraband investigation when inmates attacked officers with fists and rocks.

Ironwood State Prison, a minimum-medium security facility housing about 2,500 male inmates, is located in Blythe, California.
